OPENING SCRIPTURE: Joshua 6:1-5
- On the 7th day- Their Faith made a full circle- the wall fell
- The moral of Jericho is simple: when you circle around your promise in synch with god the wall will fall
- After seven days of circling Jericho, God delivered on a 400 year old promise
- You keep circling around the promises, God will ultimately deliver
- Besides breakthrough our faith will produce: PERSEVERANCE, CHARACTER, AND HOPE
We also glory in tribulations, knowing that (Faith in the middle of) tribulation produces PERSEVERANCE; 4 and perseverance, CHARACTER; and character, HOPE. (Romans 5:3-4)
- Faith in tribulations produces PERSEVERANCE– It is persistence, tenacity not to give up
- Faith in tribulations produces CHARACTER – as a Christian, you act, you behave you respond as Jesus would. Your character would eventually match the character of God.
- Faith in tribulations produces HOPE– Confident expectation that what says He will do
As you keep circling around your promise, your vision, your purpose- The walls will come down. You will develop perseverance, character, hope
JESUS AT JERICHO
- 1000 years later (Mark 10:46) Jesus made a full circle and came to Jericho. 2 blind men hailed him like a taxi. “Lord, Son of David have mercy on us”. “What do you want me do for you?” – Jesus asked
- Jesus made them verbalize their desire. He wanted them to draw a circle around what they were believing God for.
CONCLUSION
- What is the Holy Spirit speaking to you through this message?
- What are you believing God for? Would you circle around that promise?
