OPENING STATEMENT: God still speaks to us today. He speaks in loud audible voice. He speaks in a gentle whisper. He speaks through His word. He speaks through inner an inner voice. He speaks through a mental impression. He speaks through circumstances. The frequency range of His voice is without limits.

 

Meanwhile, the boy Samuel served the Lord by assisting Eli. Now in those days messages from the Lord were very rare, and visions were quite uncommon.

² One night Eli, who was almost blind by now, had gone to bed. ³ The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was sleeping in the Tabernacle near the Ark of God. ⁴ Suddenly the Lord called out, “Samuel!”

“Yes?” Samuel replied. “What is it?” ⁵ He got up and ran to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?”

“I didn’t call you,” Eli replied. “Go back to bed.” So he did.

⁶ Then the Lord called out again, “Samuel!”

Again Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?”

“I didn’t call you, my son,” Eli said. “Go back to bed.”

⁷ Samuel did not yet know the Lord because he had never had a message from the Lord before.

⁸ So the Lord called a third time, and once more Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?”

Then Eli realized it was the Lord who was calling the boy. ⁹ So he said to Samuel, “Go and lie down again, and if someone calls again, say, ‘Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went back to bed.

¹⁰ And the Lord came and called as before, “Samuel! Samuel!”

And Samuel replied, “Speak, your servant is listening.”

¹¹ Then the Lord said to Samuel, “I am about to do a shocking thing in Israel.

 

#1 HIS FREQUENCY IS IN YOU

• Mankind has been hard wired with hear the voice of God.
• Why? Just because His is God and He cares about mankind.

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars you set in place ⁴ what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? ⁵ Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor. ⁶ You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority (Psalm 8:3-6 NIV)

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. ¹⁴ Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. (Psalm 139: 13-14 NIV)

• The ability to hear God’s voice is in your DNA!
• Samuel means: “heard from God”.

²⁷ MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE, and I know them, and they follow Me. ²⁸ And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. (John 10:27-28 NKJ)

• The frequency to hear God’s voice is already in you.

 

#2 HIS FREQUENCY IS REPETITIVE.

It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. (Isaiah 55:11 NLT)

• This scripture should give us hope that His voice, through His Word, will always produce fruits. His voice is on a loop. His frequency is on a repeat mode.
• Even our faith comes through a repeated process.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17 NKJ)

 

#3 HIS FREQUENCY IS LOUDEST FROM A POSITION OF REST

Then Eli realized it was the Lord who was calling the boy. ⁹ So he said to Samuel, “Go and lie down again, and if someone calls again, say, ‘Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went back to bed. (1 Samuel 3:8-9 NLT)

• The frequency of His voice is always loudest when we rest.
