Frequency of God’s Voice – Part 3 (11/21/2021)

November 21, 2021

OPENING SCRIPTURE:

Meanwhile, the boy Samuel served the Lord by assisting Eli. Now in those days messages from the Lord were very rare, and visions were quite uncommon. (1 Samuel 3:1 NLT)

  • The messages from God were very rare is not because God was not speaking. They were rare because His voice was not valued!
  • We were created to not only hear His voice but to value His voice. As a matter of fact, everything that was created by God was created to hear and to value His voice…even nature, the skies, the moons, the stars.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat.

  • Even when we think that God is silent, nature is speaking for Him.

The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.

  • All of these, His instructions, His decrees, His commandments are all referring to how God speaks to us. These are his frequencies!
  • The more we value them, the more His voice becomes clearer.

How do we value God’s voice so that it is more desirable gold, sweeter than honey?

#1. SET A TIME AND PREPARE

10 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes. 11 And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day the Lord will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. (Exodus 19: 10,11 NKJ)

  • God took the TIME to set up an appointment to meet with His people. He was setting up the atmosphere by preparing the hearts of the people.
  • You took the TIME to pick out your clothes. You took the TIME to give the kids a bath.
  • By taking the TIME, You have set an expectation. The expectation is to hear the voice of God!

19 And when the blast of the trumpet sounded long and became louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by voice. (Exodus 19:19)

# 2 BE STILL AND WORSHIP

“Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10 NKJ)

17 You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. (2 Chronicles 20:17 NKJ)

  • This is the hardest thing for people to do to hear the voice of God – to be still!
  • Being still is all about positioning yourself. Positioning yourself for your breakthrough. Positioning yourself to hear His voice.
  • Be Still and Worship God. That’s the best position to hear His voice.

  #3 PRAY AND READ

I rise early, before the sun is up; I cry out for help and put my hope in your words. (Psalm 119:147 NLT)

  • Crying out for help here is praying and putting your hope in his words here is reading the Bible.

#4 LISTEN AND WRITE

Beautiful words stir my heart. I will recite a lovely poem about the king, for my tongue is like the pen of a skillful poet. (Psalm 45:1 NLT)

“All this,” (God’s plans) said David, “the Lord made me understand in writing, by His hand upon me, all the works of these plans.” (1 Chronicles 28:19 NLT)

  • What David is saying here is this: When I wrote it down, I understood it.
  • Want to know and understand what God is saying regarding the plans for your life? Listen and write it down.

CONCLUSION

What is the Holy Spirit saying to you through this message?
