STATEMENT: PROOF OF LIFE GAVE US ETERNAL ACCESS TO GOD.

Opening Scripture:

And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.  Then, behold, THE VEIL OF THE TEMPLE WAS TORN IN TWO FROM TOP TO BOTTOM (Matthew 27: 50-51)

That veil symbolizes a separation of mankind and God. The Proof of Life that Jesus gave us was eternal access to God. This access was granted by the blood of Jesus.

Hebrews 10:19-23 NLT

¹⁹ And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can BOLDLY enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the BLOOD OF JESUS. ²⁰ By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. ²¹ And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, ²² let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. FOR OUR GUILTY CONSCIENCES HAVE BEEN SPRINKLED WITH CHRIST’S BLOOD TO MAKE US CLEAN, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.²³ LET US HOLD TIGHTLY WITHOUT WAVERING TO THE HOPE WE AFFIRM, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.

1. BOLD ACCESS TO GOD

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can BOLDLY enter heaven’s Most Holy Place BECAUSE OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS.” (Verse 19)

• We can now enter BOLDLY, WITHOUT FEAR TO MEET A LOVING GOD
• Our access was paid for by the blood of Jesus

2. ACCESS TO NEW LIFE- GUILT FREE LIFE

 ^“BY HIS DEATH, JESUS OPENED A NEW AND LIFE-GIVING WAY THROUGH THE CURTAIN INTO THE MOST HOLY PLACE. ²¹ And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, LET US GO RIGHT INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For OUR GUILTY CONSCIENCES HAVE BEEN SPRINKLED WITH CHRIST’S BLOOD TO MAKE US CLEAN, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. LET US HOLD TIGHTLY WITHOUT WAVERING TO THE HOPE WE AFFIRM, FOR GOD CAN BE TRUSTED TO KEEP HIS PROMISE.”  (Verses 20-23)

• When You step into His presence, your guilty conscience is erased
• We believers are not guilty- BECAUSE THE FATHER HAS DECLARED HIS OWN SON GUILTY.

FINAL THOUGHT: We cannot be tried again for a crime that Jesus has already paid the price for. That would be a case of double jeopardy!

• “For there is now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1)
• The Father’s verdict of finding us NOT GUILTY is final!

CONCLUSION

• Your proof of life is that you now have access to God
• Your proof of life is that now you are not guilty
