The Blueprint – Week 3

The Blueprint – Week 3

September 20, 2026

OPENING SCRIPTURE:

Unless the LORD BUILDS THE HOUSE, the builders labor in vain. (Psalm 127:1 NIV)

  • God is the Architect. God is the God is the Builder

God’s name must not be misrepresented.

“You shall not TAKE THE NAME OF THE LORD YOUR GOD IN VAIN (Exodus 20:7 NKJ)

  • Hebrew translation “vain”: to misuse, to profanely use, to blaspheme, to mistreat, to misrepresent, to use in a morally disrespectful way
  • “Take”: To carry. When you carry someone’s name, you carry more than a name you carry their reputation, their character, their identity, and their legacy.

When God’s name is on your life, God is expecting us to represent Him.

#1: God’s Name is Holy: It is to be Revered

Consecrated: set apart because it is holy.

The opposite of consecrate is desecrate: disrespect or violate.

His name is to be revered (bow down to in awe and in honor)

“Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground.” (Exodus 3:5 NKJ)

  • The presence of the Lord was there, and it made the ground holy.
  • Moses asked God this question: What is your name?

“I AM WHO I AM.” (Exodus 3:14 NKJ)

  • Y-H-V-H: YOD-HEY-VAV-HEY
  • In the 13th Century, Bible scholars translated this into YeHoVaH and YaHVeH
  • Yahweh: I AM, I WAS, AND I WILL BE.
  • My name will never change! -Whatever you cannot be for yourself, I will be for you.
  • Jehovah Rapha, the God your healer
  • Jehovah Jireh, the God your provider.
  • Jehovah Shalom, the God your peace.
  • Jehovah Rohi, the Lord your Shepherd.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness
FOR HIS NAME’S SAKE. (Psalm 23:1-3 NKJ)

Our relationship with Him is based on that reverence!

“Our Father in heaven, HALLOWED be YOUR NAME” (Matthew 6: 9 NKJ)

  • Hallowed: holy, set apart.

#2: God’s Name is Holy: Not For Convenience

Don’t misuse God’s Name as a “convenient” word just to sound religious.

They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him (Titus 1:16 NKJ)

  • Their confession points toward God but their conduct pushes people away from God.

Sometimes our greatest witness is not what we say. It is what we do

“Not everyone who SAYS TO ME, ‘LORD, LORD,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER in heaven. (Matthew 7:21 NKJ)

Saying the right name is not the same as living under that name.

#3: God’s Name is Holy: It Saves

God’s name is holy because it carries the power to save.

SALVATION IS FOUND IN NO ONE ELSE, for there is NO OTHER NAME under heaven given to mankind BY WHICH WE MUST BE SAVED. (Acts 4:12 NIV)

  • The name of God is Holy and it represents Him.

For “whoever calls on THE NAME OF THE LORD shall be SAVED.” (Romans 10:13 NKJ)

God doesn’t simply give us the blueprint and then walk away. He gives us the blueprint, sends His Son, forgives our failures, and rebuilds our lives.

CONCLUSION
