When God Rearranges Your Life (4/18/2021)

April 26, 2021

As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?” “Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” The men with Saul stood speechless, for they heard the sound of someone’s voice but saw no one! Saul picked himself up off the ground, but when he opened his eyes he was blind. So his companions led him by the hand to Damascus. He remained there blind for three days and did not eat or drink. (Acts 9:3-9 NLT)

  • This was intervention of the God kind!
  • What we might call interruption, God calls intervention!

Why did God intervene in Saul’s life? Or better yet…why does God want to intervene in your life? His never-ending, His overwhelming, His unconditional love for you! We serve a God of second chances.

  • For Saul, that moment there on the road to Damascus, was his second chance. God wanted to rearrange his life.
  • I believe God wants to do the same in your life.
  • Don’t fight it. Yield to God and let Him work. Let Him do the rearranging!
  • God will never force His way in. He will knock and He will wait for your answer.

20 “Look! I stand at the door and knock. IF YOU HEAR MY VOICE AND OPEN THE DOOR, I WILL COME IN, and we will share a meal together as friends. (Revelation 3:20 NLT)

  • Only with your permission, would God enter in
  • He erases your sinful past, He rewrites your legacy, and He gives you hope.
  • God gave Paul a second chance in life. God gave him a chance to rewrite his own legacy.
  • God rearranged Paul’s life and gave him a new legacy!
  • It was that same Saul that would later on write Galatians 2:20; Romans 5:8.

20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me (Galatians 2:20 NKJ)

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8 NLT)

  • Until you let God love the Saul inside of you, you will never discover the Paul that you’re meant to be.
  • Right there in Damascus, God rearranged Saul’s life, erased his sinful past, rewrote his new legacy, and gave him hope.

In verse 15, God spoke this to Ananias:

“Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel.” (Acts 9:15 NLT)
