Which Road Should I Take?

Which Road should I take?
In life, that’s a question we always ask ourselves. Is this the right house? Is this the right job? Is this the right person to marry?
Life can be as confusing as driving down busy Orlando Florida.

“Life’s like a road that you travel on. There’s one day here and the next day gone” Tom Cochrane
• Life in the rearview mirror: One day you are here, and the next day gone.

Life: You can look in the rear-view mirror, but you cannot go back in reverse.
• You can look in the rear-view mirror and see where you have been, learn some lessons but you can never go back in reverse.

How many of you have ever missed a turn in life?
You are not alone. We all have missed a turn: by mistake or by choice.

Here’s the good news:
There is therefore NOW NO CONDEMNATION to those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1 NKJ)
As long as there is a today, there is an opportunity to take the right road.

The story of Saul
• Saul was an educated man. Educated in scripture. He was a Pharisee.
• Saul was a religious terrorist. His mission in life was to eradicate Christians.

Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with the killing of Stephen. A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem; and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria. But Saul was going everywhere to destroy the church. He went from house to house, dragging out both men and women to throw them into prison. (Acts 8:1-3 NLT)

• His reckless crusade takes Saul to a road: The road to Damascus.

As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?” (Acts 9:3-4 NLT)

• Seize the opportunity to stop and ask for directions.

“Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” The men with Saul stood speechless, for they heard the sound of someone’s voice but saw no one! Saul picked himself up off the ground, but when he opened his eyes he was blind. So his companions led him by the hand to Damascus. He remained there blind for three days and did not eat or drink. (Acts 9:5-9 NLT)

• An intervention that led Saul to his destiny.

“Saul is MY CHOSEN INSTRUMENT to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel.” (Acts 9:15 NLT)

What’s the point of this story?

1. Your wrong turns in life do not intimidate God.
2. Your B.C days or today’s wrong turns do not disqualify you from your destiny.
3. There is not a single dark place that the grace of God cannot find you.
What road should I take?

ROAD TIP #1: STOP AND ASK

• When it comes to your salvation: “Not all roads lead to Rome”
• Stop and ask. That’s exactly what one of the disciples by the name of Thomas did.

“No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” (John 14:5 NLT)
Jesus told him, “I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE. No one can come to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 NLT)

• The most critical pillars of our Christian faith: Jesus is the only way. That not all roads lead to Rome. Not all roads lead to eternal life.

ROAD TIP #2: LISTEN TO YOUR BUILT IN GPS

There is therefore now no condemnation to THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST JESUS, who do not walk according to the FLESH, but according to the SPIRIT. (Romans 8:1 NKJ)

• God has equipped all believers with a GPS navigation system: The Holy Spirit.
• You no longer navigate by yourself, but you navigate by the Holy Spirit

Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left. (Isaiah 30:21 NLT)

CONCLUSION
What is the Holy Spirit saying to you through this message?
