Who Do You Trust?

OPENING SCRIPTURE:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

“Trust in the Lord”

• Trust according to Cambridge dictionary means: to believe that someone is good and honest and will not harm you, or that something is safe and reliable.
• Webster says reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something. one in which confidence is placed.
• God is saying to us here that He’s a SAFE person to trust.

“With all of our hearts”

• ALL our hearts. Not just during the times where we can SEE things looking ok right?

“Lean not on our own understanding”

• We think we have the best idea of how to solve a problem or fix this or that.
• He KNOWS our brains and is telling us: don’t lean on your own understanding of everything.
• He sees a picture we don’t see and is moving and working and protecting in ways we cannot see nor understand.
• Our own understanding is limited.

“In all your ways acknowledge him”

Acknowledge: to accept as real and true. To recognize, admit or accept the authority and status of something.
• God: recognize my authority in your life. In all you do, don’t forget to acknowledge me first.
• Recognizing and admitting and REMEMBERING HIS FAITHFULNESS in your life.
• Acknowledge me. That’s having a relationship. Connection with Him.

“He will direct your paths”

• This is a promise He’s telling us right here.
• I will direct your paths. You do NOT need to worry and think of all the different scenarios that it should be. Let me do that.
