OPENING STATEMENT: THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS NOT LIKE A BATTLE BUT IT IS A BATTLE! You’re not fighting for victory but from the place of victory. In this battle- WORSHIP IS THE WEAPON OF CHOICE.

OPENING SCRIPTURE: Psalm 149: 1-6

“Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand”

 It does not matter what kind of bad report you have been served with . YOUR WORSHIP IS YOUR MOST VALUABLE WEAPON- DON’T ALLOW THE ENEMY TO STEAL IT FROM YOU!

2 Chronicles 20:1-30 – 3 armies have joined forces against Judah, God’s people led by King Jehoshaphat. They were surrounded from all sides and the odds of victory or even survival was zero! Here’s the very 1^st thing he did:

1. SEEK – Seek God (Read v 3-4)

Jehoshaphat feared, and SET HIMSELF TO SEEK THE LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. ⁴ So Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.

• The king himself sought the Lord – PRAISING GOD IS NOT SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN PASS ON TO SOMEBODY ELSE. PRAISE IS AN ACT OF FAITH AND THE KEY PART IN IT IS YOU!
• Seek God by worshiping Him, By praising Him, By Thanking Him

2. WAIT- Wait for God’s battle Plan (Read 15,17)

 ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them.  You will not need to fight in this battle. POSITION YOURSELVES, STAND STILL and SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD”

 In any battle, our posture matter! Posture of fear or the posture of faith?

• Your posture in battle determines your victory

3. DON’T HOLD BACK- Worship Without Holding Back (Read 18-19)

 “And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem BOWED BEFORE THE LORD, WORSHIPING THE LORD. They STOOD UP TO PRAISE THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL WITH VOICES LOUD AND HIGH.”

• WORSHIP BECAME THEIR WEAPON!
• The King placed the worshipers, the musicians on the front line.

HERE’S SOMETHING I WANT TO YOU TO REMEMBER ABOUT WORSHIP: WHEN YOU ARE CONSUMED BY HIM: HIS PRESENCE, HIS GLORY, HIS MAJESTY- YOUR WORSHIP IS NOT LONGER A ‘CHURCH’ THING BUT A MIGHTY WEAPON.

CONCLUSION

• What is the Holy Spirit saying to you through this message?
  
• Are you ready for battle church?
• Whose report would you believe?
