Our church was built on that concept or idea: The One Who Came Back. 3 words that best describe this: Hope, Worship and Life.

OPENING SCRIPTURE: Luke 17:11-19

As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria. As he entered a village there, ten men with leprosy stood at a distance, crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy. (Luke 17:11-14 NLT)

• All 10 of them received what they came for: Healing

One of them, when he saw that he was healed, CAME BACK TO JESUS, shouting, “Praise God!” HE FELL TO THE GROUND AT JESUS’ FEET, THANKING HIM FOR WHAT HE HAD DONE. This man was a Samaritan.  (Luke 17:15-16 NLT)

• All 10 of them received their healing. 9 of them moved on with their lives but one decided to come back.
• He came back looking for something beyond his physical healing.

#1: The One who came back found HOPE

• The one who came back recognized that the source of hope was in the One who healed him.

This HOPE is a STRONG and TRUSTWORTHY ANCHOR for our souls (Hebrews 6:19 NLT)

• As we keep coming back, we will find The God of Hope.

“May THE GOD OF HOPE fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may OVERFLOW WITH HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13 NIV)

#2: The One Who Came Back Found: WORSHIP

• He came back because he found the ONE who is worthy of all worship.

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and WITH A LOUD VOICE GLORIFIED GOD, and FELL DOWN ON HIS FACE AT HIS FEET, GIVING HIM THANKS. (Luke 17: 15-16 NKJ)

• We keep coming back, because we have THE ONE who is worthy of all our praise.

Enter into His gates with THANKSGIVING, And into His courts with PRAISE. Be THANKFUL to Him, and BLESS His name (Psalm 100:4)

• Coming back in worship is what brings your breakthrough.

#3: The One Who Came Back Found LIFE

So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.” (Luke 17:17-19 NIV)

• The word well is the same for “whole” or “complete” or “full”

I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL.” (John 10:10)

• When the leper came back, walked away whole/ full.

That’s the story of Oceans Church. The reason why we are here is because we kept coming back to the source of hope, worship and life.
