OPENING STATEMENT:

Resurrection Sunday – not just celebration for an empty but also a celebration that Christ is in you! Resurrection is not just an event in history; it’s a present reality for every believer.

OPENING SCRIPTURE:

“To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is CHRIST IN YOU, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27–28 ESV)

• Paul calls this the mystery revealed, the hope of glory: “Christ in you.”
• Hope that Christ today lives in us. CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY.
• This hope: Christ has chosen us has His temple.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, WHO IS IN YOU, whom you have received from God? (1 Corinthians 6:19 NIV)

• Our bodies as the temple that houses the presence of God.

John Chapter 2: Jesus clears the temple

Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” (John 2:19 NIV)

• Jesus was speaking figuratively. He was referring to his own body as the temple. He was predicting His death and resurrection.

What does Christ In You mean?

#1: CHRIST IN YOU: The Resurrection Power Lives in You

• Christ in you means that resurrection power lives in you.

“…the SPIRIT OF HIM who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also GIVE LIFE to your mortal bodies…” (Romans 8:11, ESV)

• This is more than encouragement—this is empowerment.
• The Spirit of God in you gives you life.

I have come that they may have LIFE, and that they may have it MORE ABUNDANTLY. (John 10:10 NKJ)

Practical Application: When you feel weak, discouraged, or overwhelmed, remind yourself: “Resurrection power lives in me.”

#2: CHRIST IN YOU: You Are Never Alone

“And SURELY I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20 NIV)

• This is not a metaphor. This is real!
• You carry the presence of Jesus everywhere you go.

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you ANOTHER ADVOCATE to help you and BE WITH YOU FOREVER— THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH. (John 14:16-17 NIV)

The Holy Spirit in you: Christ in you: He speaks. He leads. He guides.
But when he, the SPIRIT OF TRUTH, comes, he will GUIDE you into all the truth. He will not SPEAK on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:13 NIV)

Practical Application: In moments of loneliness, anxiety, or uncertainty, stop and remember: Christ is in me. Whisper it in your heart. Let it calm your mind. Pause and acknowledge His presence.

#3: CHRIST IN YOU: You Are Being Transformed

• Christ in you means transformation. You are being transformed by Christ in you!

Therefore, if anyone is IN CHRIST, the new creation has come: THE OLD HAS GONE, THE NEW IS HERE! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)

• The new you is because of Christ in you!

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but CHRIST LIVES IN ME. (Galatians 2:20 NIV)

• The more we walk with Him, the more we become like Him.
