OPENING SCRIPTURE:

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1 NKJ)

• That secret place is found “in-Christ”.
• That secret place is based on a covenant between God and us.
• It is our Kingdom right to not only stay in that covenant but also to enforce, to defend it.

I WILL SAY of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; MY GOD, in Him I will trust.” (Psalm 91:2 NKJ)

• Our trust in that covenant must be verbalized.

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. (Psalm 91:3 NKJ)

• “Snare of the fowler” means every satanic trap
• “perilous pestilence” means diseases and epidemics

He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. (Psalm 91:4 NKJ)

• Our divine protection is based on God’s faithfulness!

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. (Psalm 91:5-6 NKJ)

• These verses promise 24 HOUR PROTECTION!

A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place , No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; (Psalm 91:7-10 NKJ)

• Because you are in a covenant relationship with God, you have the right to say: “BUT IT SHALL NOT COME NEAR ME! NO EVIL SHALL BEFALL ME!”

For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. (Psalm 91:11-12 NKJ)

• Angels on assignment from God.

You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. (Psalm 91:13-14 NKJ)

• “I will set him on high”. This speaks of authority given to us as covenant partners.

Aaron Olsen: The Bear Encounter Story

But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it.  Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” (1 Samuel 17:34-36 NKJ)
