When Peace Is Worth Fighting For

When Peace Is Worth Fighting For

Isaiah 9:6-7       For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder.  And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,

His name will be called Prince of Peace and Son of David.

If the birth of Jesus is to mean anything good to those who are struggling, you and I need to know how to bring peace into our lives!

The Bible has a lot to say about how you and I are made:

  1. I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Psalm 139:14
  2. “body, soul, and spirit” 1 Thessalonians 5:23
  3. For You formed my inward parts; Psalm 139: 13

The “operating system” of our body, soul and spirit runs on truth.

When we live our lives apart from truth there is no peace.

The lack of real peace makes it very difficult to sense Jesus’ presence and to hear His voice.

Original Self is the real person the Father created you to be.  This is the “you” that was formed in your mother’s womb.

You have other “parts”.

Our parts are designed to cooperate with each other and act on truth.  Parts that are opposing each other causes conflict within ourselves.

The Apostle Paul said there is “a war” within his members (parts). Romans 7:23

These lies must be located, challenged, and overcome so we can enjoy the peace “that surpasses understanding” that Christmas promises.

Jesus the Son of David.

David was the quintessential warrior and worshipper.

David clearly identified his enemies and was able to overcome them.

You and I need to develop the warrior “part” such that we can defeat the lies and the Liar like David defeated his enemies.

We have to shut down the lies that affect our lives.
