OPENING SCRIPTURE:

• It is believed that an average person has more than 6000 thoughts per day.
• One of the greatest gifts God has given to mankind is to ability to think.
• Not all of them are yours: Some are yours, some are from others, some are from the enemy, and some are from God.
• A thought can only become yours when you take ownership of it.
• The way you think will define who you are today and who you will become tomorrow.
• Your life is a reflection of how you think and there is a battle for your life.

We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NLT)

#1 YOU ARE AT WAR

• Not a physical war but a spiritual one. This war is won and lost in your mind.
• The enemy wants you to believe that the mind is a neutral ground.
• A thought can turn into an action and change your behavior. It is called cognitive.

Know who the real enemy is:

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)

• Ignore him and he invades your mind with lies, doubts, anxiety.
• A thought the enemy plants today will tomorrow create a stronghold.

#2 BEWARE OF STRONGHOLDS

• In order to Flip Your Story, you have to identify and knock down the enemy’s strongholds.

• What are strongholds?
• In ancient times, a stronghold was a fortress, a citadel, built in the highest point in the city. If the city was attacked, the leader would run there to hide and still be able to rule the city from that stronghold.
• The enemy uses a stronghold as the highest point in your mind, where he can rule your thoughts and destroy your life.
Strongholds of human reasonings:
You can never be good enough for God.
Your past, your shame, your guilt can never be forgiven.

Believe those lies long enough and you hand the enemy a blueprint.

#3 USE GOD’S MIGHTY WEAPONS

We use GOD’S MIGHTY WEAPONS, not worldly weapons, to knock down the STRONGHOLDS of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We DESTROY every PROUD OBSTACLE that keeps people from knowing God. We CAPTURE their REBELLIOUS THOUGHTS and TEACH THEM TO OBEY CHRIST. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NLT)
