OPENING SCRIPTURE: You keep him in PERFECT PEACE whose MIND IS STAYED ON YOU, because he trusts in you. (Isaiah 26:3 ESV)

  • When all is going well it is very easy to read this text in a very superficial way. But When we are in a situation like we are in right now- How precious can those words become to us.
  • This scripture can be an anchor for your mind and soul
  • Perfect means complete lacking nothing.
  • the Hebrew word for peace is shalom and has a wide range of meaning including totality, completeness, success, fulfillment, wholeness, harmony, security, and well being.
  • The responsibility or burden to produce peace in your life, in your family is not yours. never was never will be. that burden, that responsibility is Jesus!

“The PEACE OF GOD, which SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING, will GUARD YOUR HEARTS and YOUR MINDS in Christ Jesus”. (Philippians 4:7 ESV)

  • This peace of God will bypass your natural understanding.
  • This peace of God has a purpose: To guard you minds and your hearts!
  • This peace of God will act as a filter. It will filter out the fear
  • This peace of God will be an Anchor

HERE’S HOW YOU AND I WILL KEEP THAT PERFECT PEACE: RENEW OUR MIND

DO NOT BE CONFORMED to this world, but be TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWAL OF YOUR MIND, that BY TESTING YOU MAY DISCERN what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2 ESV)

There are 3 main nuggets that we can gather from this text!

1ST THING: DO NOT CONFORM TO THIS WORLD

  • Do not accept the ways of this world.
  • DON’T TRY TO FIT IN WHEN YOU MADE TO STAND OUT!

2ND THING: BE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWAL OF YOUR MIND.

  • The greatest battle that you would face as a Christian will be in your mind.
  • Be transformed by renewing your mind with the Word of God. That’s a daily thing. Develop a habit of reading the word of a daily basis.
  • Train yourself to have a DAWG- Daily Appointment With God

3RD THING: BY TESTING YOU MAY DISCERN WHAT IS THE WILL OF GOD.

  • Test the information around you. In other words: ask yourself this question.
  • Does what I am hearing validate what the Word of God says. Does it line up?
  • Does what I am hearing produce peace?

CONCLUSION

  • What is the Holy Spirit saying to you through this message?
  • Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27 ESV)
